Our Mission:

“Assisting displaced families and persons in need with safe, temporary shelter and access to supportive service and work toward helping them achieve economic and social self-sufficiency.”

Good Neighbor Alliance has many volunteer opportunities. Below are a few examples of those volunteer positions available.

Volunteer Cooks

We are currently looking for volunteer cooks to provide meals to our shelter guests and unsheltered homeless neighbors. Evening meals are prepared each night by different individuals, churches, or service organizations. We also need stand-by cooks to provide a meal should someone need to cancel (we provide a meal should someone need to cancel and provide as much notice as possible). One meal per month will not only feed their bellies, but their souls as well.

Receptionist

Good Neighbor Alliance is looking for volunteer receptionists. This is a great task as it not only involves basic message taking, but completing telephone assessments. These assessments are vital in providing information regarding those seeking assistance.

Lawn Care/Gardening

We are currently looking for volunteer individuals or groups to provide occasional lawn care/maintenance. Good Neighbor Alliance has some lawn care equipment. Good Neighbor Alliance also has 4 garden beds and needs assistance with planning and overseeing our garden. The produce helps feed our guests staying in the shelter as well as our homeless neighbors.
